All about The Wedding Marketplace

Using The Wedding Marketplace (TWM)

When joining TWM, you are joining a community. While most users aren’t professionals in the wedding business, treating everyone in a professional manner is a great way to keep things pleasant for everyone.

We uphold the values of sustainability, passion for what we’re doing, respect for others and open and honest communication. Buyers and sellers have the unique opportunity to connect over shared visions of their perfect day, and we ask that you view the How to Sell page or How to Buy page to gain a better understanding of how TWM works.

If you have questions, we’re happy to help. Visit our FAQ page for more information.

Managing My Listing

Staying active with your listing is the best way to ensure a successful transaction.

If your first description didn’t generate the amount of interest you thought it would, visit the How to Sell page for more information about writing descriptions that help sell products. You can edit your description or price at any time. Sold items cannot be edited.

Optimizing Views for Your Listing

To optimize your listing views, try to think like a buyer when setting up your listing. What keywords would you search for? What category would you search within? What photos would you want to see? How does the price compare to similar items?

When listing, make sure to:

  • Price competitively
  • Select high quality images
  • Select accurate categories
  • Use relevant keywords
  • Feature key benefits

Once optimized, ensure your description is honest about the condition of the items. For more information on listing, writing descriptions and taking good photos, see the How to Sell page.

Communication is Power

We are all about empowerment here at TWM, and harnessing that power is simple!

Genuine, thoughtful and concise communication with an eye to minimizing misunderstandings is the best approach when buying and selling. Asking clear questions and providing straightforward answers moves everyone toward their goals a little faster.

Pausing Your Listings

If you need to be away and are unable to maintain or follow-up on your listings, you can easily deactivate and reactivate your items at any time by clicking on the photo and choosing the option you need. We are here for you when you get back!

If you are considering deactivating your listings because you aren’t getting the sales you thought you would, see our How to Sell page for some tips on making your listing stand out.

Create Your Listing

Your items have the potential to make someone’s event extra special. We have tips to help you along the way, and it couldn’t be easier. Just snap a few quality pictures, add your description and choose your price.

With our dedicated marketplace and user-friendly categories, it is easy to connect to buyers and showcase your items. For tips on making your listing stand out, see our How to Sell page.

What Can’t I Sell?

TWM is a specialized marketplace, and you can list almost anything to do with the wedding and event industry.

We will remove item listings if they are unrelated to the wedding or celebratory event industry. We also do not allow the following:

  • Alcohol or tobacco
  • Weapons
  • Drugs, regardless of legality in any jurisdiction
  • Items that promote illegal activities
  • Graphic, profane or other inappropriate descriptions
  • Any other items or descriptions, at our discretion, which are deemed inappropriate for the parameters of our sales platform

If you are selling your new or gently used wedding and event items in a professional and friendly manner, it is unlikely you’ll run into any problems with listings.

You can visit the Seller Agreement to review your other responsibilities as a TWM seller.

Choosing a Price

Pricing your products competitively is the best way to get them sold. We encourage you to take the time to find the market value, and price accordingly.

Looking at other items in your chosen categories can also give you an overview of fair pricing for your items. If you have an item that is particularly unique or special, carefully crafting your description may fetch you a slightly higher price within the item category. See our How to Sell page for help with creating a great listing.

If you decide your initial price was too high, you can edit your listing by clicking the description and then clicking the pen.

Shipping Choices

While listing, you’ll be prompted to provide the size and weight of the box in which your item will be shipped. This will help you decide on your shipping label.

Shipping costs are determined by the seller, and both the buyer and the seller should be clear on shipping expectations and prices before completing a sale. TWM has no part in the shipping process. You can review the Buyer-Seller Agreement for more information about transactions on TWM.

Other shipping choices include how to pack the items. We ask sellers to protect items with bubble wrap, extra packing materials to prevent movement and correct box or envelope sizes. If items are fragile, please label the package to indicate the shipping service should handle the package with care.

We strongly recommend items are sent with a tracking number, so everyone knows where the location of the item and when it has arrived at its destination. You can add this on the Order page.

Returns

Sales transactions on TWM are final. If a product arrives in a condition that does not expressly match its description at the time of sale, please contact the seller to initiate a resolution.

If you cannot resolve an issue with the seller, you can reach us through our Contact page, and we will do our best to help you.

Please see the Buyer-Seller Agreement for more information about transactions on TWM.

How to Return Your Item

Upon agreement, you as the buyer must coordinate return shipping back to the seller. The buyer must return the item in the condition it was received. General tips for safe return are:

  • Take care to protect the items using bubble wrap and other packing materials between items
  • Place extra packing materials around items to prevent movement
  • Use the correct box or envelope sizes

If your items are fragile, make sure the box is labelled “Fragile,” so the shipping service knows to handle the package with care.

When You’ll Receive Your Refund

Once the item is returned to the seller, they have 24 hours to review and refund your money.

It may take a few business days for the refund to appear on your account after the seller has returned the funds.
